Publication Rules and Procedures

  1. The Journal publishes original research studies in education and psychology that adhere to the commonly used scientific research methodology, and is written in Arabic or English. The author(s) should provide the Editorial Board with an affidavit attesting that the manuscript submitted for publishing has not previously been published or submitted to other journal(s) for publication.
  2. The Journal publishes studies translated into Arabic as well as book reviews, and reports or proceedings of conferences, symposia, and other related academic activities.
  3. The Journal welcomes objective comments and rejoinders on previously published research studies in it after being refereed by two referees; one of whom is the author of the original manuscript. Once the comment is accepted for publication, the original author of the manuscript is invited to submit a response.
  4. The research study should be written in one of the following formats: a. Field / Research: The following should appear in the body of the manuscript: An introduction, identification of the research problem, methodology and instruments, data analysis, findings and results, discussion of findings, recommendations if any, and a table of references. b.Theoretical and Analytical Research:The following should appear in the body of the manuscript: An introduction outlining the research problem and the need for this research; then the main body of the manuscript should be splitted into independent parts, each of which should cover an independent idea within the framework of the topic. Then the manuscript should be ended by a comprehensive conclusion along with a list of references.
  5. References appearing in the manuscript should abide by the APA (American Psychological Association) manual; regardless of the language of the manuscript.
  6. All research manuscripts submitted to the Journal are subject to a preliminary review of the Editorial Board to judge the appropriateness of manuscripts for refereeing. The Board has the right to reject any manuscript without stating the reasons for rejection.
  7. All manuscripts submitted for publication are subject to refereeing by professional figures in the field, who are experienced researchers with distinguished scientific status. These shall be selected by the editorial board.
  8. Manuscripts not valid for publication shall not be sent back to their authors. Authors of research papers shall receive one copy of the issue of the Journal that includes their manuscripts as well as ten off prints of their articles.
 

Manuscript Submission Rules

  1. The author(s) should submit three copies of the manuscript, on A4 sheets, and
    double-spaced; including the footnotes, references, quotes, tables, and appendices according to the commonly used editing formats.
  2. The author(s) should attach an affidavit with the manuscript attesting that the manuscript has not been published, or accepted for publishing in other journal(s); and should not submit the manuscript to another journal for publication until the refereeing process is over.
  3. The author (s) shall be officially informed of the date of receiving his (their) manuscript and the action taken.
  4. The following items should appear on the first page of the manuscript: Title of research study, author(s)’ name(s), institution of affiliation, contact address and phone / fax numbers, e-mail address (if any). To assure complete confidentiality of the refereeing process, author(s)’ name(s) should not appear in the main body of the manuscript, nor any clues to their identity.The author(s) may acknowledge any person(s) who contributed to the development of the research study on a separate sheet.
  5. The author(s) shall submit an abstract of the manuscript in both Arabic and English. The Arabic abstract should not exceed 75 words; and the English abstract should not exceed 100 words. Both abstracts should be submitted on separate sheets. Only the title of the manuscript shall appear in the abstract.
  6. The manuscript should adhere to the scientific style of writing; in a clear, correct, and nonaligned / unbiased language, and should not exceed 30 pages in length; including references, margins, tables, figures, and appendices.
  7. The author(s) shall attach a copy of the research instruments used in the study if not included in the appendices.
  8. The author(s) shall attach an IBM 3.5 disk of the research study along with the manuscript; after the final corrections have been made, and acceptance of the manuscript for publication has been granted.
